"There are paths for beginners in the introduction, but the first three chapters are always required.
For readers with solid background, I recommend to review Chapters 11, 13 and 14. Each of those have multiple and exact references to previous chapters with relevant topics.
Chapter 12 is excellent for students of health disciplines, presenting a highly lucid view of medical conditions, interesting correlations, and state-of-the-art models of the multiscale pathophysiology."

Here there are a pair selected books, recently acquired :

Both are excellent in their subject: "Foundations of Data Science" and "Practical Guide for Clinical Neurophysiologic Testing: EEG".
For example, in the first, the introductory chapters explain very well the challenges faced and then in the depth of the book the basics of the theory are revealed.
A trained person with an undergraduate level can follow all the book. But for proofs, exercises or code implementations, a graduate level, with mature mathematical basis is cleared needed.
The EEG laboratory book, is part of a series of neurophysiological books. Yamada and Meg bring a very good review of the basics of EEG, updated with all the new advances in the field and the entire technical requeriments are treated with clarity and rigor. This book is used as one of the reference books in our recently starting EEG Laboratory.
